Speedy were the first national hire
organisation to be awarded the prestigious Safe-Hire
Award by the Hire Association of Europe.
Audits
- Audits carried out weekly by each Depot
Manager.
- Regional Safety Audits carried out monthly
and approved by Regional Directors.
- Random Audits carried out by Speedy Health
& Safety Officers.
- Information collated and analysed monthly,
then reported and discussed at each Board Meeting.
- KPI's on Health & Safety compiled,
and then reviewed at the Group Operating Board Meeting.
Mystery Shoppers
- A permanent team of mystery shoppers is employed
to provide totally independent feedback of our customer
service.
- As part of every visit the mystery shopper
completes an 8 point health and safety checklist, and
the equipment they hire is sent to a workshop for independent
examination.
Training
- Excellence in Training Award 2002 (Hire
Association Europe).
- Employee training covers induction training
through to all aspects of equipment repair and inspection.

all products in the Speedy Hire range.
- Bespoke courses are developed to cover specific customers
needs.
- Courses approved by associations including PASMA and
St John Ambulance.
The Catalogue
- Each product description includes safety
symbols for customer guidance.
- Speedys catalogue was the first
to show Vibration ratings for products.
- Decibel ratings are shown where applicable.
- Personal Protection Equipment needs are
shown.
- Weight of equipment shown in line with
manual handling requirements.
The Hire
- Products supplied form the most modern in the industry.
- Safe products such as low vibration, super-silenced,
and zone-one approved are available.
- Safety leaflets are provided with every hire.
- Proof of safety inspection is provided either through
the safety inspection checklist being an integral part
of the contract itself, or through inspection number
being on both the equipment and the contract.
- Finally, our teams check you have all the necessary
PPE.
